What started with a few doors and one handheld RFID reader a few years ago has now grown into a campus-wide, enterprise deployment for RFID asset tracking covering the entire Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) in El Paso, Texas.
Radiant RFID announces today that TTUHSC will use Radiant RFID’s Virtual Asset Tracker (VAT) across all buildings and departments on campus to track the physical location of assets and will receive immediate notification of asset movement.
“We started working with Radiant in 2008 at the Clinical Simulation Lab. We were very pleased with the performance of the RFID solution and looked forward to rolling it out to the entire campus. RFID asset tracking will help us in many ways including audit response, shortening the time it takes to conduct our inventories, reporting asset disposition and increasing the overall security of our assets. Around our campus we have many different types of equipment and our plan is to tag and track all assets within TTUHSC” said David Porras, Director of Inventory.
“The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center project is a testament to the overall benefits of Radiant RFID’s asset tracking solution. When RFID Journal highlighted our solution at TTUHSC in the October 2010 issue it had been two years since we had installed Virtual Asset Tracker.” said Kenneth Ratton, Radiant RFID’s Vice President of Sales. “We are very pleased that our customer continues to recognize value two years after our initial installation and that they have selected Radiant RFID as the solution of choice for asset tracking for all items located at the El Paso, Texas campus.”
Radiant RFID’s Virtual Asset Tracker is a complete solution of RFID tags, readers, and software designed to track the physical location of assets. Virtual Asset Tracker utilizes the latest in RFID products from Motorola including the MC3090-Z RFID Handheld and the FX7400 Fixed RFID Reader. Virtual Asset Tracker’s features include email notification, online asset transfer, check-in and check-out functionality and a full reporting suite. With an easy to use interface, users have the flexibility to define the item information they would like to view as well as create custom reports.
