Austin, Texas – Radiant RFID is pleased to announce that Pace, the Suburban Bus Division of the Regional Transportation Authority, awarded RFP 407050 to Radiant RFID for a new asset tracking system that will be used to perform inventories at Pace headquarters, operating divisions, and carrier locations.
Pace’s requirements for a new system included high portability, capacity to communicate in all types of environments, and the ability to interface with Pace’s existing accounting system. Radiant RFID’s Virtual Asset Tracker (VAT) exceeded these requirements and is now being used to track and inventory all assets at Pace.
Pace implemented the latest version of Virtual Asset Tracker which includes the following RFID software: installed on Motorola MC3190Z RFID Handhelds, VAT Web Client available to all inquiring users, VAT Web Reporting, and Online Asset Transfer. VAT replaces a system and various devices that were beyond their designed and useful life and enables Pace to continue to use existing bar code labels while moving toward an ultimate goal of placing passive RFID tags on all assets.
During the implementation phase, Radiant RFID imported all Pace asset and location data and created a cloud-based database available for Pace system administrators. Prior to on-site training, Radiant worked directly with Pace end-users from finance, MIS, and operations to create a complete system for testing and evaluation. During the weeklong training, Radiant focused entirely on key-system functionality and improving Pace inventory processes designed to increase inventory accuracy and decrease the amount of time and effort required to conduct inventory. At the conclusion of the training, Pace was able to conduct an end-to-end inventory on a subset of its assets.
