Lamar University, a member of the Texas State University System, has installed Virtual Asset Tracker (VAT), an asset tracking solution created by Radiant RFID, to track all capital and inventory items on campus.
“When we first met Radiant we were impressed by the technology” said Diane Thibodeaux, Director of Facilities at Lamar University. “They listened to the problems we were trying to solve and had the experience and track record to make us feel comfortable with their asset tracking solution.”
Radiant RFID’s solution uses the latest in passive and active RFID tags, handheld and fixed RFID readers, and robust software to drive value to the inventory and asset tracking process. The Radiant solution can act as a stand alone application or integrate to existing software if required. The user has flexibility to define the information they would like to view as well as create custom reports.
“I would characterize the Radiant team as high touch”, said Diane. “Now that we are up and running one of the areas where we were most pleased with was the support and instruction we received during our installation. The Radiant team took the time to work with our team, including new members who weren’t involved in the purchasing decision, and make sure we were comfortable with the software, the readers, and the tags. Now we have regularly scheduled calls where can work through any additional questions we might have during our initial usage.”
With the successful implementation at Lamar University, the Texas State University System continues to expand the usage of Radiant RFID’s Virtual Asset Tracker. Each additional university within the system manages their own individual database of assets while leveraging the overall system investment.
