Bayer HealthCare Awards Employee Evacuation Project to Radiant RFID

SAFETY-SOLUTIONS-FOR-PUBLIC-AGENCIESAUSTIN, Texas (April 16, 2013) – Bayer HealthCare selected Radiant RFID, LLC’s Mustering Solution to enhance safety and security for over 2,500 employees, visitors and contractors at its Hanover, NJ facility. The project takes place in conjunction with Bayer’s facilities upgrade.


Radiant’s Employee Mustering Solution delivers accurate location data during the critical initial moments of a crisis. In the event of an emergency, evacuation managers can more quickly discover who is missing from assembly areas and deliver real-time, “last-seen” personnel data to first responders without requiring individual badge swipes or manual checklists.


Radiant will RFID-enable Bayer’s existing proximity-based access system with new UHF-HF integrated identification badges, proprietary iOS mobile mustering application, fixed Motorola RFID readers at key ingress and egress points, and Motorola handheld readers for mobile mustering.


In typical building evacuation scenarios, managers are unable to determine who is missing until completing headcounts, comparing lists and interviewing other employees. By automating last-seen location data ─ including out-of-office status ─ Radiant’s solution delivers accuracy while reducing eyewitness error in times of duress.


The Employee Mustering Solution is built on the company’s flagship All Hazard Response Network, an RFID-based disaster management system that has successfully aided statewide evacuation and reunification of over 45,000 evacuees with their loved ones since 2005.
